Sold

This magnificent Mantel Clock in the Louis XV style, after a model by Jean-Joseph Saint-Germain (17191791; Pendule de Cheminée Rocaille”) and also a very similar one by Robert Osmonds (c.1720 – 1789), is richly decorated with sweeping scrolls.

The drum shaped case is surmounted by acanthus leaves and decorated with fine floral garlands and on a serpentine rocaille base merging into a rock-work and grass body. The dial is relief cast and inset with an enamel plaque and fine chiseled golden hands.

The movement is signed by Robelin & Fils Ferres a Paris and strikes the half and full hour.

One key, one pendulum. A clock from Robelin is in the Royal Collection Trust London.
