Magnificent Lobmeyr Chandelier
This remarkable 12-light, finely gilt Chandelier is probably one of the most beautiful models drafted by Ludwig Lobmeyr around 1870.
The six swept arms are set on two levels; the 12 candles on the lower level have gilt nozzles, the six above have smaller drip pans, each with a prism.
All arms are richly embellished with various hand-cut glass pendants, glass beads and gilt foliate decoration.
The Chandelier stem consists of hand-cut glass elements, surmounted by two gilt bronze wreaths, small arms and large, extraordinarily elaborated glass pendants.
The entire Chandelier is abundantly decorated with stunning, hand-cut glass pendants.
All glass elements are of highest, truly refined quality, the Viennese manufactory Lobmeyr undoubtedly stands for.
